Ten-year-old Zo Mace, hailed by local media as "the next Charlotte Church" has released Songs for my Sister to launch Down's Syndrome Awareness Week and raise money for the Down's Syndrome Association.

Zo's little sister, Jodie, was born four and a half years ago with Down's syndrome and three holes in her heart. The bond between the two girls was strong from the very start and it was Jodie who inspired Zo to use her natural talent of singing to raise money for charity.

After singing at the Down's Syndrome Association's Christmas Carol Concert Zo decided that she wanted to make a CD to raise money for the charity that champions the rights of people with Down's syndrome. She said:

"I have chosen to record my second album to help raise money for the Down's Syndrome Association to thank them for the support that they have offered
my family and thousands of others just like us."

Sadly, on 2 March 2005 sister Jodie died after undergoing major heart surgery. Zo is now more determined than ever to make the CD a success to ensure that Jodie did not die in vain and that vital funds and awareness are raised for people with Down's syndrome all over the UK.
