Volunteering in Northern Ireland

In Northern Ireland we have a variety of flexible volunteer opportunities to suit people of all ages and abilities.

All volunteers who are between 16-24 years of age can participate in our Millennium Volunteer programme and receive an accredited reward.

We work with people with Down's syndrome of all ages from babies to the elderly.  You could help out on our residentials, such as our new parents weekend, looking after babies and children, going for walks or on sight seeing trips with adults with Down's syndrome, or going away on a short break with a group.

If you have lesser time to volunteer you could get involved in a wide range of evening activities helping people with Down's syndrome access mainstream social activities or helping with the running of our information conferences.

All our volunteers will undergo a selection procedure, which includes an application form and police check. As a volunteer you will receive induction training which includes Down's Syndrome Awareness and Child Protection and Vulnerable Adult Protection training.

All volunteers regardless of age have the opportunity to meet new people, gain new skills, knowledge and experience.

Email for more details and an application form.
