IMPORTANT MARATHON NEWS...

With the public ballot NOW open we wanted to give those of you planning to apply, some vital information...

As we only have a limited number if places, we encourage all interested runners to firstly apply via the public ballot for a London Marathon place.   This can be done by picking up a copy of the free magazine ‘Marathon News’ which is available in all good sports shops and specialist running stores from 1st August.  You can also apply online by visiting .  Please note that only 10,000 applications will be taken online.  The first 2,000 will receive places.  If you apply online then PLEASE DO NOT APPLY VIA POST.

The ballot closes in October so make sure you get your entries in before then.  Results are then announced in December (normally the first week) and depending on the results, here’s what to do next.

If you’re successful – first of all congratulations!  Please contact us as soon as you hear back so we can take you off our bond application list and add you onto our own place runner list.  We can then send you out a fundraising pack, running vest and all the other goodies.

If you’re NOT successful – don’t panic!  Call us as soon as you hear back.  We have a mini questionnaire that we run through with everyone applying for one of our golden bond places so this is what we’ll do first. 

Once we’ve spoken to all of the applicants, a decision is made as to who gets the places (bear in mind that we have roughly 22 places and normally get over 100 people applying for them).  Please also note that we ask anyone with a golden bond place to raise a minimum sponsorship donation of £1500.

We aim to let applicants know of their success of otherwise by the middle of December depending on when Flora London Marathon Ltd release their results.
