Why should Big Brother's Craig have to pay for Jo's life-saving treatment

- Just because she has Down's Syndrome?

The family of Joanne Harris, whose cousin is one of Craig’s closest friends, have lost faith in the British medical establishment and now believe Joanne’s best hope for her deteriorating heart condition is to travel to America for treatment.

Carol Boys, Chief Executive of the Down’s Syndrome Association said: “While we are unable to comment on specific cases, we are increasingly aware that people with Down’s syndrome in this country do not always receive the health care they need due to ignorance and discrimination by health professionals.  It is very sad that Jo and her family feel the need to go outside their own country to ensure Jo gets the care she needs.  This is a very serious problem and one the Down’s Syndrome Association is working very hard to address through its Health Alert campaign.”
